This privacy policy explains what information UtilityShift ("we", "us") collects when you use utilityshift.com, how it is used and the choices you have. UtilityShift is operated by Dewight Campbell, Jan Van de Capellelaan 4, 4383 VC Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

Calculator inputs

Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The numbers and text you type into a tool are processed on your device and are not sent to or stored on our servers.

A few tools, such as the habit tracker, can save your entries in your browser's local storage so they are there when you return. This data stays on your device and can be deleted by clearing your browser's site data.

Information you send us

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use this only to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation. We do not sell it or use it for marketing.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the date and time of the visit. This is used for security and to keep the site running, and is kept only for a limited period.

Cookies and advertising

UtilityShift may display ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized advertising cookies are used, through a consent message. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown on the site.

Legal basis (EEA and UK visitors)

We process personal data based on your consent (advertising cookies), our legitimate interest in running and securing the website (server logs), and to respond to your requests (contact messages).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA may lodge a complaint with their data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). California residents may request information about the categories of personal information collected and ask for it to be deleted. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us.

Children

UtilityShift is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
